New Sensations

This month The Blackmail turns one. To celebrate we’ve redesigned to whole site to better showcase the content that our loyal crew of top writers and photographers come up with each month. We hope you like it, we do!

To get the ball rolling this month we’ve got everyone’s favourite one-eyed character interviewing his Rinzen colleague Karl Maier ahead of their upcoming Australian exhibitions. Also in the mix are interviews with a few Melbourne locals, including bands The Twerps and Fabulous Diamonds and the salon where they may or may not get their hair done, FUR.

In the arts Matthew Griffin is looking for a job and we find out more about Tara Marynowsky, who doesn’t appear to need a job just now. There’s photography from Benedict Brink and Sam Hendel who found his way into an abandoned fun park in Germany. New kids on the block Tortoiseshell tell us how it took five years to write a damn fine disco-pop single and we find out a little more about the fine threads behind Rittenhouse.
