Second Guesses
This month The Blackmail is decidedly visual. We’ve got the upcoming Disorder Disorder show in Sydney covered on two fronts by way of interviews with curator Joseph Allen Shea and the American artist Chris Johanson. In yet more visual arts we’ve got The Butcher’s Daughter aka Lisa Cooper and the man behind all the DFA and LCD Soundsystem artwork, Michael Vandino. On the photography front there’s Charlie Hillhouse and his publishing entity, Small House Books and Will Braden takes us out to the Kimberley.
There’s Dick Van Straalen’s surfboards, themselves a thing of beauty even when they’re put next to the delicate offerings of Melbourne label, Skinny Nelson. In music we meet the off beat Electric Smile Band for a video interview and PVT tell us why they’re not like any other band.
